Based in the old Police Station, Petersfield Museum and Art Gallery was founded in 1999 by members of the local historical society. After becoming a charity in 2005 it acquired collections of work by the artist Flora Twort (1893-1987) who exhibited at the Royal Academy in the 1930s and a collection of fashion and textiles from Bedales School. The museum was redeveloped in 2019-2021 and is host to the Edward Thomas Study Centre, containing the collections of the Edward Thomas Fellowship. Head of Collections and Exhibitions, Louise Weller, and Edward Thomas Fellowship Chair Jeremy Mitchell, will be our hosts and we will visit the 2024 Peggy Guggenheim exhibition and the Edward Thomas Study Centre, both of which feature books and manuscripts purchased with assistance from FNL.
