Location: 7 Hammersmith Terrace, London, W6 9TS
The home of Emery Walker, printer, antiquary and mentor to William Morris. The House is an atmospheric time capsule packed with Arts & Crafts treasures. These include one of the world’s largest collections of hand blocked Morris & Co. wallpapers in situ and an outstanding range of textiles and embroideries.
As the house is small, it can only accommodate 10 people, so a morning and an afternoon tour are kindly being offered [10.30am and 2pm]. The tours will last just over an hour: there will be a short introductory talk, and accompanied tour through all of the main rooms and (weather permitting) the garden, bringing to life the history of Emery Walker's House.
Please note the tour takes place over three floors (46 steps in total), we regret that step free access is not possible, a limited number of chairs are available in each of the historic rooms.
